W10 is sadly just not the best OS for playing this genre, imho, given how a lot of the genre's best stuff is quite old now. This IS a genre that IMHO peaked early, with some great 2D titles from the late 90s-early 00s then some average, some good 3D titles in the mid-late 00s before just kind of stopping by the early 10s with only a few established series such as Anno still releasing regular installments.įortunately indie games like Banished are appearing and breathing some new life into the genre lately.
